I thought the social network was a good movie. I wasn’t particularly interested in who it portrays but I thought that the cinematic quality of the movie was amazing. I really liked the acting and thought the movie did a good job at making something that wouldn’t really interest a lot of people into a good drama. I saw some people in the group talking about how the film made them sympathize with Mark Zuckerburg. By the end of the movie I didn’t really feel that sorry for him. If he had only done one thing that hurt his friend maybe I would have but being that oblivious to every time his friend tried to help him doesn’t really make me feel sorry for him.

Also the way he treated his “girlfriend” (since she isn’t an actual depiction of a single real person) doesn’t make me feel sorry for him either. I couldn’t really pity his egotistical conversation with her at the beginning of the movie, especially when he said he’d take her to events for the club he was going to join like he was doing her a favor. Her snarky “you would do that for me?” Was one of my favorite lines.

Another thing I found funny was the scene where Sean Parker stresses that $1 million is nothing, what about a billion!

And Mark Zuckerburg being the worlds youngest billionaire…

When now his net worth is 100 billion and there’s talk of people becoming trillionaires. It’s interesting to see how much the worlds changed since Facebook was created and even when the movie was filmed.

Another scene I liked was Eduardo’s meltdown over the shares, because it was a long time coming and deserved on Mark’s part.

Overall the movie was interesting and I would recommend it.
